Message Sent via Phone Call

We will update this page with the Weekly Message sent out over the phone system. Check back to see the latest news.

Good Afternoon Parents, students, and staff,
This is Joycelyn Cassidy, Emma Nankivel and Maiya Dorjee, calling with school news for the week of 3/19/18 to 3/23/18.  Anything in this report is also posted on the website.
Benchmark testing begins Monday, March 19.  We will be testing in areas of ELA, Math and Science.  This is the last benchmark prior to the start of EOG’s at the end of the semester.  Assessments will be taken online and we encourage students to do their best.  Security protocols will be in place for these assessments.  Students will be required to turn off and turn in their electronic devices, such as cell phones, apple watches and fitbit to the teacher for safe keeping, or leave at home.  Any student that has an electronic device during the testing session will receive a disciplinary action.  This protocol is state mandated.

We are extremely excited about our Leadership day scheduled for Tuesday, March27.  Students will showcase their talents and demonstrate their knowledge of the 7 Habits they have been learning and teaching in their classes, to district and community guests.  Along with this event, we are having a “Dress For Success” Day the same day.  All students are encouraged to dress as if they were going to an interview that day. We want our students to understand that 1st impressions on an interview can secure the job!!!! Dress pants and shirts, dresses and skirts are encouraged!".

Onslow County Early College applications are due by Thursday, March 22. All applications must be returned to Mrs. Miles. If you have any questions about the application, please contact Mrs. Miles.
March is Youth Art Month. Join us in celebrating on March 21st from 5:30-7pm. Student artwork will be on display and there will be activities such as face painting and for the low cost of $5.00, families can paint an 8X10 portrait.  This will be a wonderful event for families to create together.
Preseason workouts for this year’s baseball season are still taking place.  The last two sessions are scheduled for March 20 and 22, from 2:30-4:00. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside of the gym doors for students interested in participating. If you have any questions please see Coach Holliman Or Coach Bak.
